History
Bloor Homes was founded by John Bloor who left school at age 15 and began work as a trainee plasterer. Just a few years later he set up his own business, building his first house before he was 20. Bloor Holdings was first incorporated 3 December 1986.
In 2002 Bloor built 1870 new homes making Bloor Homes the largest house builder owned by one person.
In 1983, whilst attending an auction to buy the Triumph Motorcycle factory for housing Bloor bought the brand investing £80million into the company and opened a new factory in Hinckley in 1991. Following a fire at the factory, it was re built and now makes 46,0000 motorcycles a year. In 2007 Triumph made a profit of £103 million.
