History
Linden Homes is a subsidiary of the Galliford Try Group, one of the UK leading construction companies with a Group annual turnover of £1200 million.
In 1908 W S Try started a construction company working in West London. In 1916 T J Galliford began a building business in Wolvey. Both companies continued to grow especially in the boom times following the Second World War.
In 1965 Galliford becomes a public company. Galliford expands by acquiring Stamford Construction, a house builder operating in Peterborough in 1976 and South West house builder, Midas Homes in 1998.
In 1989 the Try Group becomes a public company and in 2000 Galliford and Try merge to form Galliford Try plc.
The new company adds Lincolnshire house builder Chartdale Homes and Morrison Construction to the group in 2006.
In March 2007 the company became a top ten housebuilder acquiring Linden Homes for £244 million. Establishing a foothold in the South of England in the process doubling the output of the Group’s house building operation. Rosemullion Homes was added to the Galliford Try Group in 2009, further expanding the company’s house building activities into Cornwall.
