History
The company was founded as James Miller and Partners Limited by Sir James Miller in 1934. Originally based in Edinburgh, the business expanded into West Scotland with his two brothers John and Lawrence joining the business. The company started building new homes in England in 1945, taking advantage of the post-war years need for new housing stock.
Trading as the Miller Group, they are the largest privately-owned house building, development and construction group in the UK. Their charter states that they “aim to provide a world-class service to all our customers”
In September 2005 Miller bought Fairclough Homes making it a “top 10” house builder and potentially doubling the homes built each year.
